After watching President Obama’s address to the nation and
reading the Washington Post article about Syria, please write a post in which you state your
opinion on military action in Syria, responding directly to President Obama’s
arguments/reasoning for pursuing this option. In responding to this issue, you may want to read about more recent developments in this situation, such as the fact that Syria may give up control of its chemical weapons, so I simply suggest Googling Syria and reading the more recent news reports for reputable newspapers.

Using the three assigned descriptive pieces by Sandra Cisnerso, Zora Neale Hurston, and Zainab Salbi as your models, write a minimum two paragraph description of your name or your identity, or of a favorite/memorable/important place or person. Be sure to really bring the writing to life with details using the five senses. How does it smell/taste/look/sound/feel? Imagine that your reader begins with no idea about what you are describing, but ends knowing your subject as if he/she has experienced it firsthand. (Although I have not assigned a specific response to the readings, be prepared to respond to them in conversation in class.)
